Bluegrass Roots is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting for voters rights and educating voters in Kentucky. I had the pleasure of being on the team of designers that designed their brand identity. In this project, we started from scratch. Our goal was to create a brand that felt modern and would appeal to young people who have recently become old enough to vote as well as older voters that may not know their rights. We worked closely with the client on color, logo, and style to create something that would also feel politically neutral. These were good challenges that helped to guide the process of our work and pushed us to results that we didn’t initially expect. This project went on to win “Best of Student Non-Profit Work” in the AIGA Louisville 100 show.
